If you have been previously credentialed or your credentials are going to expire soon, please take the opportunity and get re-credentialed, so that you may be ready to serve when a disaster occurs. Previously credentialed volunteers need to be recredentialed every 3 years. Please click on the “Volunteer Credentialing Guidelines” below to see what you need to do to be re-credentialed.
Introduction to Disaster Relief and Specialized Classes – Knoxville (East TN)

August 15, 2026 – Valley Grove Baptist Church, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920. To pre-register for this class, contact Keith Davis at [email protected] or (865) 387-3519 with your name, church, and classes you plan to take.
Please pre-register by Monday, August 10, so that we can supply you with the proper training materials and/or lunch count on Saturday.
The credentialing fee is $40. This fee will cover not only the cost of the ID, hat, background check, and membership pin, but also the cost of any of the basic training courses a volunteer wants to take over the next 3 years.
PLEASE bring exact cash or check made payable to: TBMB or Tennessee Baptist Mission Board along with your registration forms to make registration move more smoothly and faster. See link below for registration forms.
To be fully credentialed, you will need to take at least one specialized class after you have taken the prerequisite course of “Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.”
7:30- 8:15 a.m. Registration
8:15 – 10:15 a.m. Introduction to Disaster Relief (2-hour class)
10:15 – 10:30 a.m. Break
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Shower/Laundry (1 1/2-hour class)
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Spiritual Preparation/Evangelism – PART 1 of 2 (3-hour class) (THIS CLASS IS ONLY FOR CURRENTLY CREDENTIALED VOLUNTEERS.)
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Chainsaw Operation & Safety (2-hour class)
12:30 – 1:00 p.m. Lunch – $10/person for those that pre-register
1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Flood Recovery (1 1/2-hour class)
1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Rebuild (1 1/2-hour class)
1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Spiritual Preparation/Evangelism – PART 2 of 2
During registration, break, and lunch, badge pictures will be made – head and shoulder shot, no hats.

Disaster Relief volunteers can now download the following forms to their computers and fill them out and bring them with you to training or send them to the DR office. By typing these forms, you are helping us save time with data entry and increasing our accuracy of keeping your records.
