If you have had Introduction to Disaster Relief and/or any specialized classes, and your class certification has expired or will expire this year, please take the opportunity and get re-certified, so that you may be able to serve when a disaster occurs. If you take Introduction to Disaster Relief, you need to recertify every 3 years, regardless of activation. To take Recertification class, you must be an existing volunteer.

Introduction to Disaster Relief AND Specialized Classes – Lexington (West TN)

January 15, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

January 15, 2022 – First Baptist Church, 50 Stanford Avenue, Lexington, TN 38351. To pre-register for this class, contact Beech River Baptist Association at (731) 968-7071 or beechriverstan@gmail.com.

The credentialing fee is $36. This fee will cover not only the cost of the ID and background check but also the cost of any of the basic training courses a volunteer wants to take over the next 3 years.

In order to be fully credentialed, you will need to take at least one specialized class after you have taken the prerequisite course of “Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.”

8:00 – 8:30 AM: Registration

8:30 – 10:30 AM: Introduction to Disaster Relief (2-hour class)

8:30 – 10:00 AM: Damage Assessment (would be helpful to have contractor or building skills)

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Offering the following courses (can only choose one)

  • Chainsaw Operation & Safety
  • Damage Assessment (would be helpful to have contractor or building skills)
  • Flood Recovery

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch ($6/person)

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM – Offering the following courses (can only choose one)

  • Chainsaw Operation & Safety
  • Flood Recovery

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Spiritual Preparation/Evangelism (must take another specialized class plus Intro to DR to be credentialed) – (3-hour class)

Disaster Relief volunteers can now download the following forms to their computers and fill them out and bring them with you to training or send them to the DR office. By typing these forms, you are helping us save time with data entry and increasing our accuracy of keeping your records.
