If you have been previously credentialed or your credentials are going to expire soon, please take the opportunity and get re-credentialed, so that you may be ready to serve when a disaster occurs. Previously credentialed volunteers need to be recredentialed every 3 years. Please click on the “Volunteer Credentialing Guidelines” below to see what you need to do to be re-credentialed.
Introduction to Disaster Relief and Specialized Classes – Chattanooga (East)

September 26, 2026 – Brainerd Hills Baptist Church, 6611 E. Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37421. To pre-register for this class, contact Doyle Pittman at dpittman12@epbfi.com or (423) 240-1274 with your names and classes desired.
Please pre-register by Monday, September 21, so that we can supply you with the proper training materials.
The credentialing fee is $40. This fee will cover not only the cost of the ID, hat, background check, and membership pin, but also the cost of any of the basic training courses a volunteer wants to take over the next 3 years.
PLEASE bring exact cash or check made payable to: TBMB or Tennessee Baptist Mission Board along with your registration forms to make registration move more smoothly and faster. See link below for registration forms.
To be fully credentialed, you will need to take at least one specialized class after you have taken the prerequisite course of “Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.”
7:45 – 8:15 a.m. Registration
8:15 – 10:15 a.m. Introduction to Disaster Relief (2 hour class)
8:15 – 10:15 a.m. Spiritual Preparation/Evangelism (3 hour class) (PART 1 of 2)
10:15 – 10:30 a.m. Break
10:30 – 12:00 p.m. Spiritual Preparation/Evangelism (3 hour class) (PART 2 of 2)
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Chainsaw Operation & Safety (2-hour class)
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Forklift/Skid Steer Classroom (Must have current credentials. Volunteers must pass an exit exam AND hands-on to become certified.)
12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch ($5 cash)
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Flood Recovery
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Skid Steer Hands-On (Must have passed the exam to take this class)
During registration, break, and lunch, badge pictures will be made – head and shoulder shot, no hats.
