DESCRIPTION:February 17\, 2024 – First Baptist Church\, 951 Highway 92\, Dandridge\, TN. To pre-register for this class\, contact Don Owen at dnowen@bellsouth.net with your names and classes desired. \nPlease preregister by Tuesday\, February 13\, so that we can supply you with the proper training materials. \nThe credentialing fee is $40. This fee will cover not only the cost of the ID\, hat\, background check\, and membership pin\, but also the cost of any of the basic training courses a volunteer wants to take over the next 3 years. \nTo be fully credentialed\, you will need to take at least one specialized class after you have taken the prerequisite course of “Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.” \n8:00 AM – 9:00AM        Registration \n9:00 AM – 11:00 AM      Introduction to Disaster Relief (2-hour class) \n9:00 AM – 10:30 AM    Shower/Laundry Unit Training (Classroom) \n9:00 AM – 10:30 AM    Unit Director/Blue Cap Training (must have letter of recommendation) \n10:30 AM -10:45 AM   Break \n10:45 AM – 12:15 PM  Chainsaw Operation & Safety (Classroom) \n10:45 AM – 12:15 PM  Damage Assessment \n10:45 AM – 12:15 PM  Fire Recovery \n12:15 PM – 1:00 PM    Lunch – $6/person \n1:00 PM – 2:30 PM      Flood Recovery \n1:00 PM – 3:00 PM      Forklift Operation & Safety/Skid steer (Hands-on) – must have previous classroom training and passed the test \n1:00 PM – 4:00 PM      Bucket Truck Classroom Training (A & B) (must be currently certified in Chainsaw Operations prior to taking this course) (Volunteers must pass an exit exam to become certified.) \n1:00 PM – 4:00 PM      FormStack (Bring Cellphone or Computer) \n1:00 PM – 4:00 PM      Spiritual Preparation/Evangelism* – (needs to be taken with other courses besides Intro to DR as you will not be certified with just this class as we do not do callouts on this class.
