UNIT STATUS CHANGED TO STANDBY!

The damage caused by yesterday’s rains in the Waverly, Dickson, McEwen, and surrounding areas is tremendous.  Last night they were reporting 10 dead and 20 still missing.  The waters rose extremely fast and were swift.  At least 3 of those who died were swept out of their parent’s arms.  I cannot even begin to imagine the heartbreak that would cause.

Therefore, I am putting a number of Unit Types on STANDBY for possible response.  That said, what I need from each the following types of units (Flood Recovery, Chainsaw (for trees that have been pushed down by the water), Feeding teams (small and large), Chaplains, Shower and Laundry units is the following information:

Type of Units:

When are you available:

How long could you operate your unit:

Does your unit have any special needs to operate?  If so, what?

Please email me this information so that I can work with it easier. drelief@tnbaptist.org  wjones@tnbaptist.org  eholmes@tnbaptist.org

Pray for the following items:

  1. That they find the rest of the missing people.
  2. Pray that God will wrap his arms around those affected to comfort them.
  3. Pray that those who do not know Christ would come to know Him.
  4. Pray for the right place to set up and run the recovery operations out of.
  5. Pray for all those who will be responding that equipment will work correctly, everyone will be safe and that many will come to know Christ.

Elizabeth is on vacation this week, so please make sure you are communicating with me and copy her.

Thank you for your continued service to Christ.

In Christ Serving Together,
Wes Jones
