Team Leaders, DOMs, AMSs and Secretaries,
Things change fast in DR and today was one of those days. I received a call about 1 PM while driving to Chattanooga, requesting a couple of Chainsaw Teams to go to Louisiana ASAP. Without being able to put the word out to all teams from the car, I contacted a few teams that had already contacted me about sending teams. I apologize for not being able to get the word out to all the teams. We have three teams that are preparing to go to First Baptist Church in Winnfield, LA. As soon as they get on the ground and assess the needs, we will make plans for follow-up teams. The Association and church there have set up an operation and are taking in job orders. As of today, they have some 94 job requests and have one local chainsaw team working. Between calls today they had the electricity restored to the building. They have a shower and laundry unit and are feeding the teams there at the church.
As more follow-up team needs become known, I will get the word out to you as soon as possible.
Shower/Laundry Unit available. A church here in Middle TN has a large fifth wheel combination shower and laundry unit available to give to a church or Association that would like to develop this area of DR ministry. If you know someone who is interested in this, please contact me ASAP as they are looking at giving it away very soon. I will try to get more details about what is on the actual unit tomorrow.
