Ohio, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma & Arkansas Update

DOMs, Team Leaders and Secretaries,

Just a quick update after the conference call today.

The tornado that hit the Dayton, OH area…they are still trying to get set up and moving into the area.  EM’s are not letting anyone in yet.  SBCV and KY will be setting up IC’s on opposite sides of Dayton.  I have let them know of our availability, but at this time we are on HOLD.  As they are able to get in and set up, hopefully we will get more word of if we will be needed.

Kansas/Nebraska: They are still assessing the damage from the tornado in the Lawrence area.  Mostly it is a rural area and they are waiting on word as to if they are needed to assist.  There is still flooding in KS and NE going on.  The waters are rising again and will not be down for another week or two.  They will need more Flood Recovery teams as the water goes down.  I will keep you posted.

Oklahoma: Flooding is still going on.  Some towns are drying out and they have need of Flood Recovery Teams.  If you have a flood recovery team that can go, please contact me and I will get them an assignment.  Currently they are working in 2 areas in Tulsa and one in North Central OK.

Arkansas: Is setting up 5 IC’S across the state to deal with the expected flooding.  They are getting prepared for what is expected to come.  They will need flood recovery teams and possibly others in the future.

I wish I had clearer words for you about what will be needed where but, such is the nature of Disaster Relief work.  If you can look down the road 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 weeks and possibly put together a team to go, please let me know and I will look to find you a place to serve.

In Christ Serving Together,
Wes Jones
