DOMs, Team Leaders and Secretaries,
If you have been watching the news, you know that the East Coast is bracing for the possibility of Hurricane Florence hitting the coast really hard.
In light of this, I am asking all team leaders to put your volunteers on ALERT for possible deployment after the storm passes. From what they are saying we many need all types of teams from Feeding, Chainsaw, Flood Recovery, Chaplains, Assessment, Shower, Laundry to Incident Command.
DO NOT DEPLOY until we receive the call to serve. Please be patient to allow them to start the assessment and the setting up of the ICs and Housing arrangements.
Make sure your equipment is operational, tires are pumped up and check the date on the tires, so you do not have blowouts if called.
I will send you more information as it becomes available.
Please pray for the team we have in Wisconsin this week, for those in the path of the storm, those who are preparing to deploy to assist and most of all that those responding afterword will be ready to share their faith and people will respond.
We are also in the process of setting up a donation portal on the https://tndisasterrelief.org/contributions/ Please do not let your donations to Disaster Relief interfere with what you and your church are doing for the Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions offering. The GOTM offerings along with the Cooperative Program giving of the churches provide the lifeblood of what we do here in Tennessee and around the world.
In Christ Serving Together,
Wes Jones
