If you have had Introduction to Disaster Relief and / or any specialized classes, and your class certification has expired or will expire this year, please take the opportunity and get re-certified, so that you may be able to serve when a disaster occurs.

If you take Introduction to Disaster Relief, you need to recertify every 3 years, regardless of activation. To take Recertification class, you must be an existing volunteer.

Specialized Classes – Knoxville (East TN)
March 10 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
March 10, 2018 – Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Merchants Drive, Knoxville, TN 37912. To pre-register for this class, contact Karen Chesney at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The credentialing fee is $36. This fee will cover not only the cost of the ID and background check but also the cost of any of the basic training courses a volunteer wants to take over the next 3 years.
In order to be fully credentialed, you will need to take at least one specialized class after you have taken the prerequisite course of “Introduction to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.”
8:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Registration
8:30 AM – 12:00 AM: Bucket Truck Classroom (3 hour class, hands-on in the afternoon) – must have a recommendation from your church’s DR team leader or Associationa’s DOM or DR director and must have completed the Chainsaw Operation & Safety classroom training. This class is limited in size.
8:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Flood Recovery
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Shower/Laundry
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch on your own
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Chainsaw Operation & Safety (classroom)
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Bucket Truck Hands-On (2 hours)
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: FormStack (Note: Please bring iPad, Smartphone, or laptop for this class – not mandatory)
Disaster Relief volunteers can now download the following forms to their computers and fill them out and bring them with you to training or send them to the DR office. By typing these forms, you are helping us save time with data entry and increasing our accuracy of keeping your records.
